Love this! I pick a word each new year instead of a resolution usually (unfortunately the “I want” phrases got to me this year, too) and last year I chose ‘Plant’ for this very reason.
It was after some video I watched where a woman was speaking about how so many people wish they were in a season of life other than the one they actually found themselves in- as in, being in a planting season but wishing you were in the blooming season instead or vice versa. Here’s to tilling that soil!!
this resonated with me so much! love everything you wrote (including the parentheses asides that made me giggle to myself). excited to see what tending to the bulb produces! 🌷
loved every word of this, i too fear speaking my desires aloud will invite some sort of curse. it's exhausting trying to strike a balance between opening myself up to the world's good graces and keeping my dreams so close to the chest that no one will see if they don't come true. i will be redirecting those worries to the bulb from now on!

Thank you so much for reading!! Thinking about life as a dichotomy of “seasons” is gonna make me spiral today. But like a good, upward spiral…
Gorgeous writing as always girl! Beauty in the bulbs!!
I love you! You’re my bulb.

That makes me seriously so glad! Watering cans at the ready etc!

Exactly exactly how I feel. We’re going to have the most gorgeous garden!!!
“devoting my energy to the bulb instead of the bloom” - love that!! I’m gonna fertilise the shit out of myself!!
